WHAT IT DOES

The main lever and cable operate the mechanical range selector. Two side-mounted paddles let the driver select forward gears electronically, similar to vehicle paddle shifters. The tap switches connect to the transmission-control harness as directed by the application-specific installation notes.

WHAT ELSE YOU NEED

Match the tap-switch wiring to the transmission-control harness and enable the applicable tap-shift function in the control system. Confirm cable mounting and full selector travel. Use the guide for your exact transmission; this is not an inline TCU installation or the AW4/A340 direct-solenoid wiring arrangement.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Current variants are GM 6L80/90E, GM 8L90 and Ford 6R80. Select your exact transmission above and verify the control interface before ordering.

KIT & SETUP DETAILS
VX Tap shifter with two side-mounted shift paddles, a 5-foot shift cable, transmission brackets and hardware, shifter mounting brackets and extra stops. All current VX shifters are supplied in black powder coat.
Will this work with a ZF 8HP or a 10R80?
Those transmissions are not current listed VX Tap variants. Contact RAD with your exact transmission and controller before planning an integration. A listed 8L90 is a GM transmission, not a ZF 8HP.
