The RAD Designs Automatic / Manual Transmission Control Switch Kit allows you to switch between factory automatic transmission operation and manual gear selection using a compatible RAD Designs shift controller.

Whether you're cruising down the highway, navigating technical trails, or tackling challenging off-road terrain, this kit gives you the flexibility to operate your transmission the way you want.

IMPORTANT: Transmission compatibility and wiring requirements vary by application. Verify compatibility with your specific transmission and control system before installation. Manual torque converter lockup and switching between automatic and manual modes must only be performed under appropriate operating conditions to prevent transmission damage. Always follow the installation instructions and operating limitations for your specific application.

TWO DRIVING MODES. ONE TRANSMISSION.

AUTO MODE — Everyday Driving

Keep your transmission operating as the manufacturer intended. With the selector in AUTO mode, shifting is controlled by the factory Transmission Control Module (TCM), allowing the transmission to shift automatically based on normal driving conditions.

Ideal for:

Daily driving and highway cruising
Street-driven Jeeps, trucks, and 4x4s
Commuting and longer road trips
Situations where you want conventional automatic shifting

MANUAL MODE — Take Control

Flip the switch to MAN mode, and gear selection is handed over to your compatible RAD Designs manual shift controller.

Select and hold the gear you want, without the TCM automatically commanding a shift.

Ideal for:

Rock crawling and technical trails
Steep climbs and descents
Off-road racing and trail riding
Situations requiring precise gear selection
Drivers who want direct control over transmission shifting

INDEPENDENT TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP CONTROL

The second rocker switch provides additional control over torque converter lockup.

Depending on your transmission and wiring configuration, the switch provides three operating selections:

TCM: Allow the factory controller to manage torque converter lockup.
OFF: Prevent torque converter lockup.
TC LK: Manually command torque converter lockup when operating conditions permit.

This gives you the ability to configure torque converter operation separately from your automatic/manual gear selection.

BUILT FOR A CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION

The complete kit includes two premium, non-illuminated Carling rocker switches mounted in a precision-machined RAD Designs aluminum housing.

Installation requires integration with the transmission's control wiring. Compatibility and wiring requirements vary depending on the transmission model, factory TCM, and existing vehicle electronics.

Important: This is a control-selection switch kit, not a standalone transmission controller. Manual shifting requires a compatible RAD Designs shift control system. Torque converter lockup operation must be wired and used according to the specific transmission's requirements.
